I have started my morning with a glass of nice iced coffee, a pumpkin bagel with strawberry cream cheese, and 1/3 of my collection being bought by someone on B&N.
While my sales are steady and slowly increasing, I have had very few days where I have logged in with new 10 purchases on one site alone. When I first found out I could indie publish and started seriously considering it I wondered what sorts of numbers I could bring in. Would I make booming sales? My husband and I discussed this business at length, the many pros, and very few cons (I do hide what I write from several of our family members and its a little awkward because I tell EVERYONE EVERYTHING haha.) and he has said over and over, "This is what we'll get to retire from." Not that we'll get to retire at 35 or anything-haha- but slow building over the course of the next 20 years I'm hoping to be able to establish ourselves enough that these books will be able to bring in enough for us to play in our retirement, instead of retiring to jobs as greeters and being a burden on our children and grandchildren. Slow and steady growth is incredibly encouraging. Realizing the longer I am around and the more exposure I get, and the more likely that I'll be successful.
