Naughty or Nice?

Every so often my husband giggles at my innocence.  Yes really, an erotic author of a year, a lover of the occasional strip club, far too much porn, bondage, spankings, anal, and the hard fuck, he'll say something I'll pause and respond, "huh?"

This happened yesterday evening as we were coming down from our crazy holiday and pooling around on Facebook.  My friend linked a photo of a board game he'd gotten, Cards Against Humanity.  If you have never heard of it go to the website and it's pretty quickly explained with a lot of hilarious and spectacular examples.

My friend's photo was of the box with a single white card on top.  It said, "The taint; the grundle; the fleshy fun-bridge." And his caption simply stated "this game appears to be quite awesome."

Not understanding I read the card aloud to my husband (gratefully after his parents had left!)  "I don't get why this game is awesome," I said, and read it again.

At that point he snickered and rolled his eyes.  "My wife the erotic author doesn't know what the fleshy fun-bridge is." And he explained it and I giggled and began praying my daughter would not repeat the naughty words I said right in front of her.

Urban dictionary is one of my favorite sites to verify terms I am unable to find in the regular dictionary.  A source that's a bit more naughty than nice, its a good way to ensure that you know what you're talking about, or if you're like me, to figure out what the hell that author meant with the term "tossing his salad."

Friday is one of my favorite days to blog.  :) I get to find great music and wish you all a great weekend.  But since its the Friday before Christmas I thought I would place up my own Holiday Gift for you all.

When Day Turns Night is free until Christmas!  Enjoy a book on me (one of my faves, but I'll let you be the judge).

Hope you have a happy holiday season.

Still, Still, Still

In Light of today's tragedy I thought instead of the sexy song of the week I'd offer up a more somber tone.

I am including some music that I find beautiful and gentle.  This is not meant to offend any of my readers, simply to uplift and calm.

When Day Turns Night

A while back I wrote a blog about inspirational dreams.  This book was inspired by such a dream.  Every once in a while books come about that you as the author loves.  Stories that tie to your own heart for reasons unknown to you.  The Binding fantasies, The Deep fantasies, My New Husband, and When Day Turns Night are amongst pieces that tie them forever to me.

Set in Ireland in the eleventh century it is my second medieval piece.  Perhaps it won't sell well, because of this niche, but its certainly one that I enjoy, and bringing sex into a world of romance and classically magical times is a great challenge. But also as an experimental piece I have placed it only available on Amazon Kindle - on their KDP Select program.

Since I love my B&N fans, I will definitely be loading it to the Nook as soon as it comes off the Select program, but whether or not other titles hit KDP Select first is based on this title.  So - if you're a Kindle Prime user -

Sexy Song of the Week

This week has been delightful.  Two books finished and in the process of uploading.  Primal urges have been fulfilled, working has been easy and fruitful.  This weekend is filled with exciting and fun party plans.  Working hard this week has allowed me to not feel guilty this weekend with the partying.

If we weren't able to focus on the here and now then the future can overwhelm us.  As this delightful song says, "Give me everything tonight." Thinking about only having tonight helps us to push through intense situations.  Step by step, enjoying the world as it rolls through us.  Each book I write I try to pour my heart and soul into - for it may be the only one that my reader gets.  It may be my only chance to give you everything.

The Penance Through Submission series relies on the "give me everything tonight" principle.  Meredith doesn't know if she'll be able to keep her husband, whom she loves desperately, but she's willing to do anything and everything to try.  Look for it this weekend!

Wordy McWorderson

Many writers have goals on how many words to write a day - sometimes they're huge and sometimes they're small.  I read one professional full time writer say that she always strives for 8,000 words, and then she stops herself so she doesn't get sick of writing.  Her thoughts were if she could always do 8,000 then it would be steady and she'd always have something fun to write about the next day if she stopped in an exciting scene.

There are many different tips on getting your output up, but the truth about this here author (me) is my goals change and fluctuates based on what is happening in my life.  For instance, this month is Christmas, I have a LOT to finish in time for Christmas, dollhouses, clothes, quilts, not to mention preschool for my daughter and babysitting off and on.  Frankly getting stories out-while still a major goal-has been reduced to only a few thousand words per day.

My goal of hitting 50 books this year is being pushed back to 40 - and I'm well on my way to that (book 37 and 38 are at the editor now!)  The key for me is to set goals I can accomplish, and that means if I have one that is becoming too lofty to reduce it into smaller portions.  I will still hit 50 books - but I have given myself until March to hit it, allowing me the opportunity to be with my daughter and enjoy the festivities, and to produce quality.

So keep ACTIVE goals, goals that work around you and help you feel accomplished.  Work continually and do do do!

Fun-day Monday

My weekends are full of fun, and funnies.  Like most people our weekends are full of shopping and preparation for the week, parties with friends and family, and relaxing.

Being a full-time writer I try to ensure that my weekend carries through my week, while also ensuring that my productivity continues in one way or another.  I have long tried to make my Monday's Fun-Days.  When I worked outside the home I always brought a good attitude - I hated the "case of the Mondays" and tried to make people smile as often as I could.  So I figured I'd try to bring it to the blog.

A few months back while playing around on YouTube, my hubby and I discovered "The Thin Wall Challenge."

The premise is simple.  Ryan (the creator) can hear his neighbors going at it through a thin wall and he has set up "minute to win it"-like challenges.  While the first few are simple enough (blowing up balloons) he has evolved to relatively challenging and silly things like the one I have linked below.  In some he gets punishments for losing and rewards for winning.

They are ridiculous, but every one of them has made me laugh, and is the perfect start to my Fun-day Monday. :)

Be sure to go to Ryan's channel to watch them all.
