Hey Santa!

CHRISTMAS!!!!!!!  Its officially that time of year, my ultimate favorite.  So I thought I would tell you a Christmas story to kick start the season.

Last year in November, 2011, my husband and I were cuddled in bed, me playing Sudoku on my phone, him reading some sexy story on Literotica.  When he finished he rolled over and said, "I wish you would write some sexy stories, you tell a good story."  I smiled at him and would have dismissed it, but for some reason it stuck with me.

So I wrote a story, a sexy little story about a guy named Tom who was a voyeur and his neighbor Noel who was an exhibitionist.  I wrote it, edited it, and sent it to him.  He encouraged me to upload it to Literotica, so I did.  Two days after Christmas it was published.  My first online erotic story.

I was overwhelmed with comments, high ratings, 10,000 ratings in a week.  And it was with that encouragement that I thought, maybe this is the niche you should publish under.  I had intended sending it to a steamy porn publishing company like the few chapter books I'd collected on the drives across country.

It was my good friend who suggested I publish it online.  In the beginning I was iffy - it sounded too good to be real.  And sometimes I think that it was, or is.  I am not making a ton of money - not at all the $500 a month I had hoped for and heard was doable.  But its a helpful amount, enough to pay a few bills, and give me a bit of play money for Christmas.

I went on to add another two chapters and bring Tom and Noel's story together and published it online on Amazon and Barnes and Noble for my second published erotica.

With Christmas coming and completely surrounding me I find the desire to write, the desire to play in my imagination like a perverted child coming to full fruition.  Hopefully time will allow for my sexy stories to meet you soon.

I hope you have the best holiday season ever.

Happy Holidays, may they be full of kinky hot fun in the chilling weather!

Epic

Every once in a while something will inspire a writer to delve into a topic, a soul, a world they instantly link to, usually one they had not thought of before, had not spent much time with, or even disliked.

This journey through such a world can make the entire process different, but not necessarily bad.  In some cases, this inspiration will consume a person so much that they'll put out something epic - like Braveheart, Titanic, Gone with the Wind, or Avatar.  Perhaps pulling an author from what they typically write. This inspiration can be so consuming that you can't let go of it until its complete.

I have been working with Too Deep for a few weeks now, spinning it and debating on splitting it up into two pieces instead of one, refocusing and debating on more sex - though the story is sound, my editor and husband both are concerned that readers of the first two will be discouraged by the turn of events - namely softer sex.  I have only taken time to write a quickie - a fun and boisterous oral sex piece about a nurse.  The goal was to dive back into Too Deep.

Then last night I dreamed a dream.

One of those dreams you wake from so frustrated and sad that you woke.  Vivid and clear, full of passion, plot and angst, and writing it is giving me the opportunity to input some pretty epic sex too!  Its one of those pieces where I had to immediately start writing - even though it was only seven a.m.  Once I got my basic outline out I was able to do finishing work on Nurse's Scrubs - but that piece keeps calling.  Hopefully you will get it soon and let me know if you find it as epic as my dream.

Until then, Kisses, and have a happy weekend!

Sexy...or Silly...Song of the Week!

Every once in a while sex needs to be funny and silly.  Romance put along the way-side for fun and relaxation.  Enjoyment of the act and being with your partner.

When you think about it sex is one of the silliest acts on earth.  Bumping and grinding, funny squishing noises and occasional vaginal farts. (ever experienced those?  They make the mood very silly quickly!)  Just think about the crazy names we call the act, bumping uglies, doing the nasty, hiding the sausage, choking the turkey.

Probably the silliest and most embarrassing moment in my own personal history of sex was with my husband this last summer.  We were enjoying some fun crazy positions, my hips were well off the bed, wrapped around his hips.  We'd been having a good and romantic night, and it included anal.  Now if you've never experienced anal on occasion it will fill you with little air pockets, and cause the urge to . . . erm . . . fluff.  With the new angle and the exchange back into the my other area, haha, that air pocket was getting seriously worked, and I was helpless to prevent it.  It was the LONGEST. FART. EVER.  And I was completely incapable of stopping it.  After about fifteen seconds my husband just started giggling, which shook his cock buried within me and made that air pocket continue out in this hugely embarrassing silly moment.  Every stroke seemed to elongate that silly fluff and adjust the mood to a more lighthearted fun night.

My husband chose the uh. . . SEXY song of the week this week, its silly and funny and very light hearted.  I've also included a comedic skit by Jo Koy - perhaps my favorite comedian out there, if you've never seen him before and you like this bit make sure to check him out.  I love all his stuff.

Only This Moment

You may or may not have heard of Röyskopp before, they are a Norwegian "two headed monster" that works with electronica.  I love a lot of their works, this one, Eple, Poor Leno, and Flashlights and Explosions are personal favorites.

Its amazing when a person hits a "moment."

That moment where everything melts away and there is a complete connection between you and _____.  I've had it when I first saw my husband, in several of my books, when I first held my daughter, but it doesn't always have to be something huge.  The other night my husband and I had a big argument.  We were both in a very negative place, and it ruined all sorts of positive energy that we had been having.  But then it shifted.  We said a few things, apologies mostly, and suddenly there was this huge connection again.  The moment was filled with each other.  Everything else melted away.

A really good book will have these moments, links that draw your memories back to it again and again.  Perhaps its a first kiss, perhaps its a shotgun, perhaps its a tear pull.  Sometimes life changing sometimes just mood changing, sometimes remembered forever and sometimes fleeting, sometimes expected (like a wedding date or delivery date) sometimes unexpected and a truly random explosion of divinity.

How do we fill our books with these moments?  Feel our books.  Feel them, we have to separate ourselves as writers from our personal lives and become our characters, we have to love with them, lose with them, hate with them, cry with them.  If we fill our hearts with the emotions we want to portray they come out on the page, they soak it and some of that power will rub off on our reader.

I hope you have a marvelous three day weekend.  :) See you in September!

                                 Kisses,
                                     Lesa

Open Arms

I'm in a sentimental mood today.  Sometimes you need to just enjoy the Journey.

This morning I woke early and slid into my lover's arms.  Almost a full half hour of cuddling put us both in a good mood, easing us into the day.

After that I've spent a good portion of this morning chatting with a childhood friend.  This nostalgia reminds me of playing in canals, running through the fields behind my home, and playing with my brothers and sister.  I'm sure you're asking, "Where are you going with this Lesa?" And the truth is, I'm not certain.

There is an innocence that one remembers from a childhood like mine, a "Little House on the Prairie" childhood. Sometimes after writing some particularly "Kinky Fuckery" (awesome term E.L. James!) a person likes embracing the innocence, the undying love from your partner, the adoration from an innocent child.

Variety is the spice of life and I wouldn't give up my kinky fuckery for anything, but that doesn't mean I want it all the time, and I'm assuming it is the same for most everyone out there, so today take a breath and Journey into something a little different.

Soundtracks for Books

***SIMPLY LEAVE A COMMENT AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS POST TO WIN BOUND TO HIM!***

I have recently been reading 50 Shades, and one thing that continually strikes me is the use of music through the entire book.  E. L. James has no issue whatsoever mentioning some songs by title in her books, and the moods they cast help shift and adjust the emotions tied into that section of the book.

Take the below two songs, sexy, erotic, breathy, vs. . .
. . . fun and silly, old school romance.  The diversity fits with the sections of books they're aligned with.  (If I remember right a graphic sex scene and a sweet dance at a party.)  On E. L. James' website she lists a selection of music from the books.
Stephenie Meyer also is rather infamous for having her soundtrack in mind when she was writing The Twilight Series.  If you visit her website she includes entire lists of music she wrote to, was inspired by, and her own soundtrack, one for each book.

The idea of a "Booktrack" has come so far as to now be released in an Apple App.  Booktrack adds ambiance, soundtracks, and special effects, while you read.  The app claims to track where you are reading and create a "truly sensory experience."  And from the reviews it seems to do just that.

Have you ever experienced Booktrack?  Do you listen to author's "Soundtracks" when they're available?  Do you come up with a sound track while writing?  Comment below with your email address for your chance to win:

A Hero's Blog Hop: Charlie

Lesa: Hello and Welcome new visitors and long time readers!  Today we're in for a special treat.  I've invited Charlie and Meredith from The Penance Through Submission Series in today to chat with us and give us some insight into their interesting lifestyle.  Charlie, Meredith thanks for coming today!

Charlie: Thanks for having us.

Lesa: So Charlie, you aren't the "typical romantic hero," but I find that you're one of my favorite people to write about.  What do you think makes you "heroic."

Charlie: I would hardly classify myself as a hero, my wife strayed from me because I had neglected her needs, not a very heroic act.

Meredith: Respectfully, I disagree, Charlie is an amazing man.  He works hard to provide for me and to ensure his workers are well taken care of.  For years he sacrificed a lot of who he was with his desire to protect me.  He's also very humble and forgiving.  (She smiles lovingly at him.)

Lesa: What do you mean when you say "he sacrificed a lot of who he was?"

Meredith: Charlie and I were married when I was young and he was not so young.  He had experience, but he was my first and only.

Charlie: When I met Meredith she was perfect and  innocent, it seemed wrong to expose her to the world of BDSM, even though I was fascinated with it.  I walked away from the lifestyle for her.

Lesa: That must have been hard.

Charlie: You have no idea.

Lesa: And it was her cheating that brought BDSM back into your life?

Charlie: I realized that I had let our relationship get stagnant.  As much as I loved Mere, I found myself continually wanting to be at work... I am an addict-personality, when I find something I enjoy I want to dedicate all my time to it.

Lesa: So you started tying her up to spice up your love life?

Charlie: (He chuckles, squeezing Meredith's hand.) Not at first. The first time I was just so pissed that I wanted to lock her away from the whole world.  I didn't want some punk nosed prick fucking my wife again.

Lesa: (I blush and chuckle.)  So how is married life now that you've had some time since the incident?

Meredith: (She grins from ear to ear and tucks a strand of hair behind her ear.) Its been good, its almost like I have met a new man, and gotten to keep the one I loved before.  Charlie is more open to things, he lets me know a lot more of his past and I know now what he likes.  And I've found a lot more things I like too!

Lesa: Like?

Meredith: (She blushes and lets out a nervous giggle.) Spanking, spreader bars, teeth, flails, wax, to name a few.

Lesa: At what point did it stop being "penance" and become "romance."

Charlie: (He looks at Meredith and she nods.) I think it was at different points for both of us.  The moment that I felt it started to shift was when she was dripping with need as I spanked her.  It let me know that she wanted it and was willing.  It became more a turn on than a punishment.  Even then I had to be careful with my anger, she had indeed snapped something within me and it was like all my rage was fighting to get out.  Sometimes I think its still penance for both of us.

Meredith: When the spanking started, I was amazed to find myself turned on by it, but I still feared I had broken my husband and our relationship.  I mean what man would lock his wife away in a bathroom for a week?  (She squeezes his hand to take the sting from her words.) I think my major turning point was the smile.  A hint that he was enjoying it, that he was getting pleasure from my obedience.  It's strange looking back I can see the romance to all of it, despite my fear and self loathing.

Lesa: What tip would you offer to couples wanting to experiment with BDSM?

Meredith: Communication, patience, and openness.  When you're just starting out you don't know what you're capable of, you may think you'd really like to be spanked and find out that it really doesn't turn you on like you thought it would or vice versa.  BDSM becomes a very personal thing and it takes time to realize what you both like.

Lesa: One final question, if you wouldn't mind, Since its Friday and "Sexy Song of the Week" day, what's your favorite sexy song?

Charlie: When Meredith left me I fell in love with Lady Antebellum's Need You Now.  The line "I'd rather hurt than feel nothing at all" really struck me.

Lesa: Thank you both for sharing your story.

Sexy Song of the Week

6/8/2012

This week's sexy song is Gotta Get Thru This, by Daniel Bedingfield, because lets face it sometimes we just need a little pick me up.

I found out some really bad news yesterday, bad enough that I may be taking a little hiatus while some things get aligned once again.

Everyone goes through points in life where they just want to quit, where someone dies, a loved one leaves, someone has to fight something scary, jobs go away...  Emotional roller-coasters are a part of life, ups and downs and all that.

The good news with Erotica is that it will be here when we're ready again, when we don't feel like the world is falling apart, and maybe it will give us some inspiration and make our pieces that much stronger.

Sexy Song of the Week: Inspiration

5/25/2012

They say a picture is worth a thousand words.  If that's the case music is worth 11,038.

I have been working on Bound to Him for a long time compared to my normal erotica.  Not days, not weeks, months.  It is strange for me to have "writer's block" or to feel pressured while writing, but frankly I wanted so much from Bound to Him that I felt overwhelmed by it.

I knew as soon as I started it would be a novella, the story of Brit and Isaac deserves more than a mere few thousand words.  They will have an entire series together, as completing the second piece yesterday showed me another story to complete their saga.

But I digress.  I was stuck, every time I sat down to write Bound to Him my head would pull out maybe 500 words.  It just wasn't moving the way I wanted to.  Yesterday I had a day off and could focus 100% on my writing so I sat down to write.  An hour into it and I'd barely completed 100 words.  I sighed and put my laptop away and tried these steps:

1) I wrote an outline, giving myself the opportunity to think how I wanted to get into the endzone (to use a horrible sports metaphor...my husband teased me mercilessly at the end of my last short story about my football mentions.  He fixed them.)

2.) I got set up with snacks and a decent breakfast.  This allowed me the opportunity to not interrupt me for food and therefore allowed steady and continual pc time.

3) I turned on Pandora.  I knew that my Lesa Erotica channel wasn't really what I was looking for with Isaac and Brit's piece.  Yes they're incredibly sexy songs, but they didn't "Feel" right.  When this song came on about 11:30 I had put out a measly 600 words, the outline was barely helping, but this one felt perfect.  I immediately transferred it to a new playlist and replayed it.

Some music will do that to you, striking a chord in your soul, moving you when you were stationary before.  As The Rush Comes by Motorcycle did that to me yesterday and I ended the evening with a completed piece having written 11,038 words, nearly doubling a good day for me's word count.

Sexy Song of the Week - Broadening Your Horizons

5/18/2012

This song was chosen by a friend of mine.  Its not really my style, but that is the reason I pulled it in.

Everything varies so much from person to person, what someone considers sexy may be silly or even gross to someone else.

As erotic authors we have to take into account and respect all different types of sex and sexual styles.  I personally didn't understand male on male stories until I read Jungle Fever by Sara Pierce.  I have gay friends and absolutely no issue with it, I just didn't understand the pull until I read that, the sexy steamy scenes broadened my horizons and have encouraged me to consider writing a MM in the future.

The other thing to take into account is that the more types of stuff you have out there the broader your audience may become.  That is not to say that Niche artists aren't going to make it, but in experimenting you may discover that  your wildest fantasy really is a subject people love.

I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
                             Kisses,
                                 Lesa
